That was another awesome game. You are all starting to learn your positions. I am still happy to see every ball that gets hit as soon as one of our girls gets to it, they stop it and are ready to throw to a base. Our pitchers are learning how the umps have different strike zones. Congratulations to Katie on her first inning of pitching. You did awesome. Alyssa, take good care of “Softball”. You worked really hard today. That was some hard hitting and you made a great scoop at first. And lastly, I liked to see that speed on the bases. Mally you got a base hit off of your speed and all the girls were starting to take good leadoffs on “almost every” pitch.
GAME#1 3/3/07Panthers,
I was really proud of all of you today. That was an amazing first game of the season. I saw all of you getting in your ready positions as the pitchers went to their wind up. We even had some fielding and throw to first put outs. Our pitchers were throwing with accuracy and speed. Rocket, I saw that little Tiger pump of the arm after your first strike out. The catchers were in their proper stances and stopping the balls. Our girls looked like hitters when they went to the plate. They stood in the batters box, had the right grip on the bat and for the most part were patient and only swung at good pitches. We had some sweet hits and the base running was solid. I think everyone ran through first and did a good job listening to the base coaches. All in all, I thought it was a great day on the softball diamond.
Congratulations to Emma “Crush” for an awesome first time pitching. As a result she was given our team mascot, the little purple and white panther kitten, to take care of until our next game. Our mascot will be visiting with each of the girls as we go through the season.
Riley, you played tough. I know that pitch hurt when it hit you but you tried to stay out there and hit and in the next inning you ran right out to your position.
