*****Newest Additions at the Bottom *****  Last update 5/9/07

Now that we are 4 games into the season, I am beginning to see who plays better in different positions.  We need to keep working on our #2 & #3 pitchers.  We need to keep working on our hitting.  The team seems to be progressing though and that is a good sign.  We still have 12 games to play and starting out with a 50% win rate is not too bad.  Let's keep working hard, playing hard, and having fun and the season will turn out successful.

Well after 6 games we are mainting our win average (50%).  The hitting is improving and the fielding is coming along.  It looks like we might actually have four or five pitchers by the end of the season.  Not too bad.......  Two catchers to split 6 innings (or less) is pretty good too.  We are scoring the runs to win, now we just have to shut down the opponents so they don't score more than we do.  Everyone is working hard and improving as the games go on.  I couldn't be happier with everyone's progress.  Keep up the good work and don't forget Rule #1 of the Maroon Monkeys ---------- HAVE FUN!!!!!!!

We have played everyone once.  We have won 5 games and lost 4 games.  All four losses were by a total of 5 runs.  That tells me we can play even with anyone in the division.  That also tells me we can beat everyone in the division, if we play good defense and we hit good.  Sounds pretty simple but as we all know by now, it's easier said than done.  Keep working hard Monkeys, everyone is continuing to improve and if we can keep hitting like we have the last couple of games we will be one of the teams everyone is watching out for.  Good Job!!!

Well, here it is, the final week of the season.  We are 6 - 8 overall BUT, take a look at our scores.............  We have lost our 8 games by a TOTAL OF 9 RUNS!!!!!! That means we have only been losing by one run and that ALSO MEANS WE CAN PLAY AGAINST EVERY TEAM OUT THERE AND PLAY THEM TOUGH AND FAIRLY CLOSE!!!!!  The Playoffs are next week and I am looking forward to some hard fought games from Game #1 to the Finals.  KEEP YOUR SPIRITS UP MONKEYS, THE SHOW ISN'T OVER YET AND WE ARE ONE OF THE MOST COMPETITIVE TEAMS OUT THERE.

LET'S SHOW SOME MONKEY SPIRIT ALL THE WAY TOO THE END!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Well, what can I say?  This was my first year as a head coach in girls softball.  Wow, is it different from Little League.  But when it was all said and done, this was probably one of the more enjoyable seasons I have had as a coach.  This was one fantastic team in attitude, sportsmanship, and teamwork.  We all had our little moments throughout the year, myself included (and probably more than anyone else).  But as a whole, this team showed me two things 1) A never say never attitude and 2) Have fun no matter what is going on.

Coming over from Little League took some adjustments on my part and I hope that I adapted well.  It seems like everyone learned something (or improved a skill or two) this year.  I know the team I saw at our first practice was way different than the team I say playing tonight.  We may not have won the trophy for the championship but, as far as I am concerned, every girl on this team is a winner.  That was one whale of a game tonight and I couldn't have asked for a better game to end the season with (except for maybe a win but hey you can't win them all and you can't have everything).

I am VERY PROUD OF EVERY GIRL ON THIS TEAM and I am equally proud to say that I was the Maroon Monkeys coach.  Keep working at and each one of you will become a better player with each year.  If anybody asks me how the season went, my answer will be easy "My Monkeys were the best and we all came out on top!!!!!"

SEE YOU AROUND NEXT SEASON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
