Coach's Comments
Overall Record:

20-12

4-1 against RB!

2nd place in San Marcos, 2 Semi-finals, finished 1st or 2nd in pool play in 5 out of 7 tournaments, Emeralds vs. Parents - winner

A great summer ladies!

Tournament Results:

PQ Summer Classic:  Semi-Finalist.  Undefeated #2 seed in pool play. Finished 4-1 overall losing to the eventual champions, Scripps Ranch.  A good start to our tournament season!

San Marcos Summertime Warmup:  2nd Place.  Finished 4-1 losing a hard fought game to a very solid OVP team. Way to go ladies!

Mira Mesa Runway Classic:
0-4 in pool play against mostly "A" teams.

Poway Heat Classic: Undefeated and #1 seed in pool play. Finished 3-1 losing our first game in bracket play.

Mesa Del Sol: Finished 2-1 in pool play and tied for 2nd. Did not advance to bracket play due to tiebreaker rules (too many runs allowed).

Escondido Freedom Tourney: Finished 1-2 in pool play (5th seed) but fought hard all the way to the semi-finals including a thrilling come from behind win against RB. The Escondido heat as well as the heat from Murietta's pitcher proved to be too much for us in the semi-finals though, losing 4-2. Still you should be proud of yourselfs for battling back after starting the tourney 0-2. I know I am!

Let's take that momentum into RB and finish the All Star season strong!

Emeralds vs. Parents: Another awesome comeback! After spotting the parents a 4-2 lead, our ladies showed patience waiting for their parents age to catch up to them (about 1.5 innings). Despite a 2 run bomb by parent John Riley, our Emeralds stormed back for a 6-4 victory. Way to go ladies!

Rancho Bernardo Grand Slam Summer Jam: Finished 3-0 in pool play seeded #2 out of 12 teams. Lost to Laguna Niguel in bracket play as our furious comeback in the last inning fell 1 run short.
