5/28 The Poway Diamonds started off their season this weekend at the PQ Tournament. After 6 games in 3 day the Diamonds went 5-1 and came away with second place. This was a great way to start to our season. We all learned a lot and are looking forward to our next tournament.

 

6/2 We played 3 tough games at the Laguna Tournament coming out with a 1-1-1 record. We know what we need to work on to take our play to the next level. Great job girls!

 

6/7-6/10- Great job at the Mira Mesa Tournament. We scored 69 runs and gave up 9 in 7 games. We had two long days with 3 back to back games on Sunday.  Our awesome pitching and defence along with some great hitting earned us 1st place.

Way to go girls, looking forward to our Poway Tournament next!

 

6/14-17- Another great tournament girls. We took 2nd at our own Poway Tournament. Keep those bats hot!

 

 6/22-24-Districts- Awesome weekend girls, way to hang in there til the end. Great job finishing 2nd in our district, Lancaster here we come!

 

 6/29-7/1- Escondido Tournament- Way to bring home the gold girls. All 12 of you helped win 1st place with a huge win over Bonita Valley in the final game! Our overall record is 27-5-1!!!!! Keep up the good work!

 

7/6- 7/8  State Tounament - Opened strong with two big wins vs. Moorpark (9-1) and La Mirada (8-2) to qualify for western nationals.  A tough loss to Simi Valley (3-1) in the quarterfinals and second loss to Canyon Hills.  We ended up 5th at State.  Las Cruces here we come!

 

Murrieta 7/13- 7/15 -- Diamonds came to play and prepared for Nationals with a 6-0 record to take 1st place by defeating a good Chino team in the final.

 

 Nationals Update 8/1/07  9:00 PM--  Despite bad weather and a 45 minute delay, Poway 12U Diamonds got off to a great start by defeating the Rocklin Thundercats 15-1 behind strong pitching, defense and a 12 hit attack.  Our next game is Thursday morning at 8:00 vs. Santa Clara who also won their first game.

 

8/2/07  8:00 AM  --  After giving up a first inning run, the Poway Diamonds battled back and defeated a good Santa Clara team 9-2.  Our first bracket game is Friday morning at 8:00 AM.
