Coach's Comments
Sun. Sept. 9 vs. Oceanside Poison
After an opening loss in Game 1, our team came back in Game 2 and won 14-9. The girls pounded out 11 hits and played a solid game defensively. The entire lineup contributed to the scoring barrage.
We look forward to our second weekend of play next Sunday where we'll continue to work on sound defense, throwing strikes, and timely hitting. Way to go girls!
Sun. Sept. 16th vs. Poway Nightmares
The girls all contributed to a great performance. Seven different girls pitched and played catcher in the doubleheader. Our team played well together with solid defense, great hitting and strong pitching.
We were fortunate enough to win both games by a 13-3 score. The coaches and parents would like to congratulate the girls on their work and hustle.
We're all looking forward to this Sunday's games against Murrieta.
Go GoldiSox!
Sun. Sept. 23rd vs. Murrieta Madness
Our team ran into a tough opponent against Murrieta. Their team played solidly on offense and defense and took both ends of the doubleheader by the scores of 5-0 and 7-0.
In spite of the scores, the GoldiSox had plenty to be encouraged about. The girls are continuing to get valuable experience at several positions in the field. And our team is having fun playing and learning together as we look forward to Week 4 of the season.
Sun. Sept. 30th vs. Poway Spotless
The GoldiSox played a very good Poway Spotless team. We faced some very good pitching but put the ball in play well and got our share of hits. Our bats rebounded nicely from the prior Sunday. However, our opponent also hit the ball well while we made a few crucial errors that cost us some runs. We lost the first game 9-3 and the second game by a score of 6-3.
The girls have shown great progress over the last four weeks. We will continue to work on our defensive fundamentals, throwing strikes, and staying aggressive at the plate and on the bases.
Go GoldiSox!
Sun. Oct. 7th vs. Mira Mesa
The Mighty GoldiSox won the first game of the doubledeader 11-3. There was lots to be happy about...great hitting, pitching and fielding. We did lose the second game however, by a score of 9-4. Although we ended up with a split the girls worked on keeping their energy level up as the day progressed. They played very well overall.
Sun. Oct. 14th vs. Vista
After losing Game 1 by score of 10-2, the GoldiSox showed great heart coming
back to win the second game by a score of 7-5. Even more encouraging was the fact that Vista's team was made up primarily of All-Star players. We're really proud of how the girls are learning, playing hard and having fun. Go GoldiSox!
Next Up: Sun. Oct. 21st vs. Poway Predators @1:30PM
