Comments Game #1 (3/2/08) - Loss 7-5 vs. Tsunamis
Tough loss girls. We had that game in our hands and let it slip away. But I am so proud of what you accomplished:
a. We went head-to-head with one of the two top pitchers in our league and we held our own.
b. All of the girls made good decisions at the plate... we were swinging at strikes... and for the most part not swinging at junk.
c. Savanah had a big hit off Skylee to put us ahead in the 4th inning. Way to go girl and get the bat on the ball!
d. Nina had a big hit down the 3rd base line in the 5th inning to drive in a run.
e. Shannon R. pitched great putting up goose eggs on the scoreboard to match Skylee.
f. CeCe made some good defensive plays at 2B.
g. Shannon B, Laura, Quinn, Lauren and Hannah all got on base with hits and walks to keep our 5th inning rally alive. Great job!
Let's win game #2 next weekend!

Pre-Season Comments:
I like what I am seeing in our practices.
Great girls!
Great attitudes!
Lots of Fun!
Super improvement on defense, throwing, catching.
Our hitting looks to be strong this season!
And we've got:
Alyssa, Elissa and Lorissa
Savanah and Hannah
Two Shannons
Laura and Lauren
Twins
But I've gotchya figured out!
Savanah:
Super hitter. Hit the game winning hit in rec ball championship last year. We expect big things from you this season!
Lauren:
New to softball, but super hand-eye coordination. You'll develop into a good hitter. Keep working on throwing! And keep up the great attitude :-)
Shannon B:
Your hitting has improved so much with practice. Keep up the great work!
Laura B:
Love your attitude. And your improvement on defense. We're gonna work you in the infield this season.
Nina:
Your hitting has improved so much since all star season and winter ball (if that's possible :-). And you'll get lots of time at SS and some time on the mound. Diggin' your quiet leadership. Keep doin' that thing you do.
Elissa:
Playing 1B and C is just like playing All Star Goalie. Catch everything and don't let the ball get past you. You'll do great this year. And your hitting will blossom. Work on your pitching... we'll need you this year!
Quinn:
You're a great athlete and I see super things from you this year. Keep going to pitching clinic!
Hannah:
It's Hammer Time! Break it down! You're a newbie to softball? Who woulda thought? You're our Charlie Hustle!
Lorissa:
Wow! You're crushing the ball with au-thor-i-tay! And you've got a cannon arm throw to 2B. Stay strong!
Shannon R:
Keep having fun girl. Good things come to those that are patient. We're all counting on your all star leadership this season.
Smashley:
You're our big contact hitter. I've seen you hit the best pitchers in our league. Keep on Smashin'!
Alyssa:
So good at so many things! Hitting, defense, base running. Your all star experience will help lead our team. Keep on smilin'!
Remember...
Softball is a thinking girl's game.
Be smart.
When on defense, always ask yourself "What will I do if the ball is hit to me?" during every pitch.
When hitting, always make good decisions at the plate. Nothing high, nothing low.
And Have Fun!
