Coach Update (9/1/08)
Our team is coming together nicely.  We're showing an improving defense, fantastic team speed and an aggressive, hard hitting attitude at the plate.  I really like what I see.

The improvements we made in our recent batting cage session made a HUGE difference:
1.  Keep your weight on your back foot (at least 80% of your weight on your back foot while your front foot floats lightly)
2.  legs spread wider than shoulders
3.  fast hands through the zone without wasted motion
4.  keep your head down through your entire swing as you see bat hit the ball
5.  turn the hips for power
6.  and a big follow through after you hit the ball.

I was SO IMPRESSED with everyone's improved performance.  Seeing yourself on video makes a huge difference so you can actually see what we are telling you to do during your swing.  Great job!
