2/28 - Opening Day - The girls had a great time playing their first game as a team. We played a very good Titans team and were fortunate to come away with a 4-2 win. The girls put the ball in play...and our pitching performances were awesome! Nice job girls!
3/7 - at 4S Ranch - Wow!...the girls did a great job today. Our pitchers combined for a perfect game...winning 10-0. Our hitters put the ball in play and did a super job of running the bases. Ball/strike recognition was much improved and no signs were missed. Great fundamentals!
3/12 - The girls did a nice job in winning against The Hot Tamales by a score of 9-1. We welcomed in our new coach, Alexis Johnson, with our third win of the season. We're looking forward to Saturday's game!
3/14 - Today we got to play Pinkzilla at Silverset Park. The girls had fun, smiled a bunch and came away with a 14-2 win. It's so good to see the progress that the girls are making. We're not swinging at many bad pitches...our pitching remains solid...and we're starting to hit the ball even better! Way to go UV!
3/19 - Way to go UV! The girls did a nice job against the Mighty Tigers tonight, winning by a score of 9-0. Our pitching was solid...the team was focused and did great with hustle, not missing signs, and being disciplined at the plate. Thanks to everyone who supports our little team!
3/21 - What a great game by our UV softball girls. We played a very good Outlaws team today...and came away with a solid 6-3 win. I'm so proud of our kids! They played great defense, hit the ball well, and pitched great under pressure. They're really coming together as a team! Awesome stuff UV!
3/24 - Our UV softball girls were fortunate to win a squeeker 5-4 tonight against Forever Home Run. And although we didn't play our best game...the girls learned how to stay focused even when things didn't go just right. The team stayed disciplined at the plate, ran the bases well...and look forward to coming back stronger next time.
3/28 - Kudos to the girls in purple! We came away with a 9-0 win today against Storm. Our play improved today. We hit some balls hard and made some nice plays on defense. Thanks girls...you're really doing great!
4/4 - We had a really great game today against The Mighty Tigers. We played a full 6 inning game in just over an hour and a half! There were many great plays made by both teams...and we ended up with a 1-1 tie. Hats off to our opponents...as we look toward the spring break. Go UV!
4/13 - The girls in purple came out strong after the Easter break. Playing with full ASA rules for the first time, our UV girls did really well. They were stealing bases, making plays on defense, and came away with a 12-2 win over Pinkzilla.
4/18 - Our UV girls played a solid game today at the friendly confines of Silverset Park. The girls in purple ran the bases really well...hit the ball pretty well and came away with an 8-4 win over The Pirates. We're looking forward to the last week of the regular season. Go UV!
4/22 - Wow!...what a great game today against The Outlaws. Our parents and coaches are so proud of these girls. After being down 5-1, the kids stormed back and won 6-5. They were so happy. It was great to see. Congratulations girls...your determination is amazing. It's such a blessing to be around this team.
4/25 - What an awesome way to end an amazing regular season. The purple UV girls went out and capped their regular season with a 9-2 win over Forever HomeRun. We pitched well, ran the bases with confidence...and even pulled off a triple play on defense! You girls are awesome. Way to go UV!
What an amazing season we had...one that we'll not soon forget. Our girls in purple went 13-1-1. We laughed, enjoyed new friends and had a wonderful time together. Many of us may never be a part of such a successful season again...from a win/loss standpoint. But the real magic came from the joy that we shared...having two cancer survivors as a part of our team, learning about real courage in the face of adversity. Sometimes seasons aren't defined by championships as much as the life lessons that the girls share. Thanks UV!
